Flamenco Guitar with Bob Miles and Nick Cole - Part 2
Whenever I hear his improvisation, the way he played his imagination are all mesmerizing and this is the first time I saw him playing, before this I only heard audios and this is what we call as jazz music. I really liked it.
🎉
RIP Jack Wilkins.
"Toolin' Around" was released in 1993, so this video can't be long after that, '94/'95?
I think if I can remember about 1997? I know sadly his wife and daughter passed away about 2 months after the show. Arlen and I spent a lot of time together the following year. One of my favorite people and guitarists. Thanks
Vic was a monster player and a great American.
Absolutely agree. When an older teenager, I attended a five day jazz clinic in Melbourne Australia. Vic and Steve Erqiuaga were the guitar faculty / guitar mentors. I was only a newbie to jazz and when attending an audition the day before the clinic began I met Vic. He scared the crap out of me, as I hadn't seen a real great jazz player in person close up. As the week progressed and I listened to his instruction and tips, saw his faculty performances and saw a concert later in the week (he played as a duo with keyboard player Mike Nock) he just totally blew me away.
Love this!
Hey Bob, I know this is a long time ago, but do you have the rest of this interview/program? I would love to hear the whole thing and see it if you could post it on UA-cam. Hope all is well and hope you’re still playing some great jazz guitar.
Hi Gregory, Thanks for the incredibly kind words. I really miss Sal! Such a nice person. When I had these edited, they where for MIND television and MIND only took 5 minute segments. I’m sure the entire show is around, but buried in several hundred of other episodes. I keep wanting to put more on, but money and time are my main obstacles. Thanks so much for writing!!! Bob
@@BobMiles thanks for responding. At the time of this show, I was drummer in Sal’s band, with Mike as his two-guitar partner, plus Barbara Sfraga on vocals, it was a great band. Phil Bowler was bassist (great player). We recorded an album called “crystal image“, very rare and long out of print. I hope one day it can be re-released. It was produced by the legendary Teo Macero.
@@rhythmfield Wow!!! That’s great Greg! Sal was amazing. Sorry for the long delay, but I rarely get on youtube
@@BobMiles not a problem, Bob!
This music is heavenly! Great artists performing beautiful compositions! Thanks for posting!
Bob, Saluto, Great Rendition ! ! ! !
I got the CD,it's excellent.
That’s some great pikkin!
😃👍
My favorite
name this tune!
It's "The Gentle Rain" ("Chuva Delicada"), a 1965 composition by Brazilian guitarist/composer Luiz Bonfá. He is best known for the music he composed for the film "Black Orpheus".
Robert Benedetto's blue guitar made for Scott Chinery. What a sound!
So great!!! Great to hear Cathy and John!
Truly an awesome gift of guitar playing
Thank you
I think my altime favorite guitarist is becoming cheryl bailey
That lick at 2:18 I thought could only be played on a synthesizer.
I know about his music mostly because of Hot Licks videos and this one, I find useful transcribing the song from this video. I've noticed he created a youtube channel a couple of weeks ago, just saying for the ones who are interested in listening and watching some of his content, his approach is pretty unique I still gotta check it out. Bob I think your channel has very valuable material, keep it up, thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Studies with Sal at UB 89-90. Changed my perspective. I was and still am in awe!
Master ...good job. Sehat selalu.seniman dari Indonesia .👍👍👍👍👍
Does the remainder of this clip exist anywhere?
Very epic and explosively wonderful.

what is this song name?
Great
Bob, was that you I see on the new McDonald's commercial?
Yes it was
Joe never came out with his second CD....and he's got some tunes. And the first CD isn't even on You Tube or Spotify. This guy is terrible at promoting himself.
Beautiful duet and great players...
Joe Dalton is a world-class country and country-jazz guitarist - and he probably plays other styles of music equally well. Joe, if you are reading this, you ought to be a household name; your talent and musicianship are simply amazing. This number is wonderful - it is available for purchase? I also like your "Panhandle Rag" instrumental, too. What about that one? Joe, do you perform live on a regular basis anywhere? Do you give private lessons? After seeing this video, I just realized I need some!
All these people fortunate enough to have gotten to study under Sal. I only recently learned of him, but his warmth and charm emanates even through these video clips. Thank you for posting!
You are welcome, He was a great man!
Good stuff mate. Very entertaining. Thanks
Thanks Robert
Great!
studied with Sal 85-90. He was a legend.
I studied with Sal. On the West Side NYC. He gave me direction. "Guitar Boot Camp" The best teacher I ever studied with.
